Famous Orion Waterfall lie at the end of right fork in Meilun River. The river is very beautiful and has quite a few pools and climb-ups. Better come here with experienced river tracers. At the right fork lies there lies a hunting trail along the tributary on the left side(facing downstream) all the way to Orion Waterfall.
The entrance is called "Butterfly Valley(蝴蝶谷)", a natural water park for the local. Fun for swimming, picnicking and BBQ. Recently visitors have significantly risen, especially on holidays. At the end of the river trace is there a waterfall with its big pool. On my way to it I saw wild boars and deer. The water is beautiful and the valley is very ... ideal for camping. The river trace is easy.
12 tall waterfalls ranging from 3 to 10 meters in the mainstream and its left fork. 6 smaller waterfalls. Quite a lot pools in this river at the bottom of the waterfalls. Difficulty: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (4/5) https://inprovefield28.wixsite.com/rivertraceintaiwan/post/scale-of-review-and-level-of-difficulty

This is a really cool little river trace close to Dulan. You can park at the starting GPS point and shouldn't have much of an issue finding your way in from there. A good portion of this river trace is inside of a fairly narrow canyon. The views are great and the trace is a lot of fun. There were a couple of areas where you would want to be a fairly ... confident climber, or have someone go up first with a rope. When we went the water was quite low as it was the dry season. It could be a whole different type of trace when it's wet.
