A giant pool that is 50 meters long is not far from the trailhead. The pool was caused by a landslide and has been here for few years(now: 8.8.2022). Upstreams, the creek turns wide after the gorge next to the pool, and there aren't any significant waterfalls nearby.
This Maple Creek is the one in Nan'ao-Heping area, not in Nan'ao town where Nan'ao River is. There are four waterfalls in this trace, and the first three of them have a route to go around. Quite a few pools can be found, and all of the waterfalls have a pool.
Heliu Creek is a beautiful creek with countless pools and is a must for river tracers. The pools are pristine and emerald, and many of which are able to be jumped into. Quite a few pools have waterslides, and an abundance of natural bouldering walls can be found along the creek. Near the end of the trace is a 6-meter waterfall and its huge pool. Aft ... er the waterfall is there a short gorge that connects to the Ending GPS on this post. The creek intersects with Nan'ao Old Trail, and it takes 1 hour from the trailhead to the river. A small stream with two waterfalls. The first one is around 20 meters tall with a pool, and the distance is 5 minutes from the road. The second one is farther, and the direct route—on right side(facing downstream), and some part of the trail requires concentration and carefulness—to it takes around 30 minutes or more. Another option is to cut to the ... creek early to enjoy climbing in the creek.
The creek is not fun when it is too dry. The two-layer slide is safe but checking for rocks beforehand in water is always necessary. The single slide before the two-layer slide is not recommended due to the possibility of injury.
